Small & Quiet Season 🌾
What is "Small & Quiet" in my world?

Well.
It has been a phrase I’ve used for the past few years of the act of a shrinking of all the excess and all the noise in the process of healing.
Body.
Mind.
Spirit.
Soul.

The call to move to the quiet of the county was always a place in my consciousness--and when I got here I hit the ground running.

The excitement catapulted me forward to grow and raise and try anything I could within the financial and physical limits available to me.

Gardens with fruit/veggies, ducks, chickens, geese, foraging, canning, dehydrating, fermenting...
It all opened up to me in ways that limited me in the small, city kitchen with a too-shady backyard lined with massive, mature trees.

Since 2018 I have accomplished so very much. Learned SO MUCH. DID so much.
My photo memories are beautiful.

But now.
Now I am in a quiet, pensive, reflective, regrouping, regathering, and frankly--BURNT OUT space.

And that's OKAY.

I am evolving as my 40's are tapering off and my youngest is 9 and oldest is approaching 14.

My full and loud life is blowing by quickly as an "older Mommy" who already would have felt time slipping a little faster. Add the elements of teendom to the kids and the encroaching horizon of their adulthood--and I'm left to take quick inventory.

I have been called into a season of change where I've moved away from my 17 acres and more INTO the heart of my kitchen.
I have been called to evaluate habits, thought processes, and what is important immediately to my quickly-aging family.

When I launch from a space, I have a hiccup or an event that keeps me back--and I see that it is ON PURPOSE.
To keep me grounded and here and present for my first priority and love: My Family & my Home.

To any person, activity, and/or extra I owe nothing to.

I've sourced the things I used to toil in the dirt for outside of my Home for the last two seasons, tore up my gardens, closed down my honeybees & pigs, and only keep a majority of our eggs for my family.

And that's all OKAY.

Everything else is and will be an honored space. I am in a season of "just for myself" as I haven't shown my step-by-step or evolving of what I am doing on my Homestead--turning into an elusive Mama, Wife, & Homemaker, Gardener, & Homesteader once again.

So to the future of the rhythm and contents of my Home and online priorities--I am respecting my Small & Quiet process.

No longer is it something I can do while holding space pretending that I'm going to be steady or provide "content" online. There are plenty of voices out there to entertain in this arena without adding mine to the noise.

I am going to continue this culture of Small & Quiet until I find my rhythm with my new skills and unlock where the Lord is taking my talents beyond my Home and my family--if anywhere at all.
